if they aint road legal there isn't really a point tbf

I know, i was gonna get these too. In the night if you crash, your insurance will not pay out, neither will the 3rd party even if it's not your fault. You may as well be driving uninsured.

HID Conversion completed on Thursday 19th July 2007. Here's a pic of the final results with the lights on. Amazing!

Word of advice on anyone getting a HID conversion. Once done make sure you go to the local dealer or MOT testing station and get the lights adjusted correctly so the headlight beam alignments are correct. This should resolve any issues with the lights dazzling oncoming traffic.

Thanks for the advice. I have 6000k on my Corolla so I'm not at risk from the police. :)

I have seen 8000k on some cars and they are so blue I would be worried there isn't enough light on the road. More for styling purposes tbh.

Ordered my ultimate kit with led sidelights and silver coated indictators last week. Due to the HID's stuck at the docks on the boat from overseas my order was delayed for about a week. They were dispatched today, so hopefully sometime tomorrow i will receive them and fit right away. Went for the 6k kit aswell. The nights recently have been pitch black, and i had some idiot on a bike almost run into me 2 weeks ago, all dressed in black, not even a single light on his bike.

Ed Shek, your famous at HIDs4u. Most of the sales staff seem to know you. lol. Oh and i used the coupon code aswell so worked out a great price. Thanks for negotiating that for us on the boards.

Cheers

Armz.

Guess I must have been one of the first to get a HID kit from hids4u.co.uk. :D

They are a really good bunch of lads and the service I got from them exceptional. Was chuffed when I managed to negotiate a discount from them and as promised I would pass it on to fellow toyota owners.

Special mention to 'Chris Mason' from hids4u as he delivered the great service!

1st class company with a 1st class product!

Interesting, because the Department for Transport website says this:=

In the Department's view it is not legal to sell or use after market HID lighting kits, for converting conventional Halogen headlamps to HID Xenon. If a customer wants to convert his vehicle to Xenon HID he must purchase completely new Xenon HID headlamps. The reason for this is that the existing lens and reflector are designed around a Halogen filament bulb, working to very precise tolerances. If one places a HID "burner" (bulb) in the headlamp, the beam pattern will not be correct, there will be glare in some places and not enough light in other places within the beam pattern.

I think you're far better off getting some legal brighter bulbs (such as the Philips Xtreme +80%) than taking a risk with these things. I reckon it's only a matter of time before someone gets the blame for an accident because they were using illegal HIDs.

i think thats a better idea - you stay legal and you get similar results for a lot less money. my mate owns a mot centre and i forgot to ask him when i seen him today - taking my car down there next week so i will ask him.

I ordered a set of lamps from hids4u before I noticed that you had arranged a Toyota discount.

I mailed them to ask if they could help out and received a mail from them saying that as it was Christmas they would refund the difference and honour the discount

Refreshing to have that sort of service in this day and age B)
