Engine Swap Ae92

I have 2 ae92's

1: solid rust free but a blown tvis engine

2: the other is a rust hole and has a excellent non tvis engine

what i want to do is remove the blown tvis engine and put the non tvis engine in as this is alittle more powerful than the tvis

will this engine work ok in the solid car if i use the non tvis ecu aswell or will i have to swap loom over i want to try and keep the same bhp as the rust hole car.

any helpon this would be great.

Naz.

its not a big prob!

The ecu will probably not work....!!

You can switch d Loom and ecu OR you can use the TVIS head if its still good and put it on the Non TVIS engine!!

Any1 got an easier way......cos both of mine are kinda long.. but they'd work

the engine swap should work fine same ecu will be grand,

friend of mine had an ae86 with a high-torque (non-tvis) which never came in ae86's

it blew and he put in a tvis engine form mk1 mr2, never changed ecu or wiring,

worked perfectly.

i presume you could just change the ecu's as the wiring looms should be idientical

But ask someone who knows, irish lads have them swapped and changed more times than they've done do-nuts with them, or maybe not that much :yahoo:

That'll be the easiest route, otherwise you'll be faced with lots of mismatching inlet components, sensors and connectors. Besides, the latter engines got a better clutch and stronger internals..

Get yourself a gasket kit and get it on!!
