Tailgate Spoiler To Match Wind Deflectors

Hi all,

A couple of weeks back I bought the Toyota OEM perspex tailgate spoiler to match the wind deflectors

I previously fitted. Finally got a dry day at the weekend to fit, took great care while fitting to prevent

scratching and when fitted removed the protective film. Shock horror, it had more :censor: ripples than

the chocolate bar of the same name. Needless to say I went back to my local Mr T and showed them.

They agreed it was unsuitable and ordered me a replacement, which I went to pick up today (and boy

did I have a job getting the first one back off). This time while still at dealer I decided to open up the box

and check the new one. Yes you guessed it, the second one was the same. Told MrT to keep it and

settled for a refund. Now left with the problem of trying to fix a lot of little marks on tailgate. :censor:

So if you are thinking of buying one of these, my advice DONT BOTHER

Dave.

When my RAV came back from being fixed a while back, the monkeys that delivered it broke the rear perspex spoiler completly off just leaving a bit stuck to top of door.....So they got a new one and fitted it....no ripples but did notice a chage in design from onld one...

Is this the type you meen

Chatman,

Yes thats the one, to be honest if you were standing a few feet away you would not notice.

But its this bl**dy engineering thing (cant get work out of my head) its not right so

its not acceptable. The company that make these for mr t need to have a look at their QA

Sorry I'm doing it again :shutit: :shutit: :shutit: :shutit: :shutit: :shutit: :shutit: :shutit:

Cheers,

Dave.

Hey Dave

I have the same problem.

If I'm making something from wood and go to ask for 3"X2" they get really tetchy when I tell them that it is only 2. 3/4" X 1. 3/4." And what is 7/8" strong when it is at home? It's either 7/8" or it isn't as far as I am concerned.

Now I know you'll take a mud flap off four times to adjust it because it looks a bit cocked and curse because they cant make either the mudflap or the bumper right in this day and age. And if you take something off behind the dash, all the wires will be routed and clipped properly when it goes back. Right?

Touche

It may be an affliction but I think it has something to do with pride mate.

Anchorman, catching up on some old threads I missed during holidays, you are absolutely right.

I am sitting at my desk, looking at some wellhead parts for the rigs which puts things into

perspective. In this game if you have any doubts, you only need to mention two words PIPER ALPHA.

(we mention them quite often).

Dave.
