Drip Drip.

Corolla In France

Recommended Posts

Hello All,

I have a french 2007 Corolla 1.4 diesel with electronic air conditioning and noticed a pool of water under the car after having the air con on. The water was dripping out a small black pipe in the rear centre of the engine bay and was dripping onto the chasis where the front crossmember is and the front wheels join to. It dripped about half a pint out of this half inch pipe.

Is this water from the ac evaperater and is it normal? It had no taste to it but water.

Ac working great.

Many thanks James.

Hello James, its perfectly normal for the aircon to drop water fron the matrix after use, its just condensation dropping off it when you stop. jed.

Thanks for replying. I thought AC equiped cars do that but wasn't sure as it is our first car with AC.

The air con sure worked well in our long drive down from Normandy France to Bergerac, on our 5 day visit. It was 90 F in the shade in the Bergerac area, and was well over in full sun facing south.

It was a 640 kilometre drive each way and took 7 hours with a couple of stops. The car performed perfectly and find the 1.4 engine can keep up with merc's and bmw's etc very easily. Short sprints of 160 kilometres an hour and a general speed between 130-140 kph

Anyone know how much a user manual is for my car as my user manual is all in French? Anyone got toyotas email adress so that they could send me one, as it seems all you can do is to phone them on a premium rate phone call?

Very pleased with the car. Many thanks James.

Hi I am in Portugal and had a problem with the Portuguese manual and asked the dealer for an English one. He obtained one from UK free of charge in about 10 days.

I agree with your sentiments on the 1.4 diesel it is a very good car.

Hi,

Thanks for your reply. I will also try asking the dealer to get me a user manual in English from the dealer when my car goes for its first 15,000 kilometre service. Is the first service free, or if not how much are the services?

Many thanks James.
