Gear Box?

Hi, Guys first time user, so be patient! I recently purchased a 93 Hilux Surf 2.4 SSrx, the car is great but like any new purchase a few teething problems. When selecting drive or reverse on the Auto box, i get a noise, not quite a clunk but more than i would expect. I appreciate that all auto's do this to a degree when selecting gear, but not sure about this so any ideas?? I am not mechanically minded at all, so keep it simple!

I also need to source a new rear section of exhaust, where is the best place to go? High street retailers are more expensive, but am i likely to get one of the shelf therefore saving time etc?? what should i be paying for this? When driving the car at any speed i also get a lot of vibration, only on accelaration, this may just be down to the exhaust as it has probably been blowing etc since the purchase, or could it be something more sinister? Gear box? The car has only done 65k so shouldnt have any major problems?

Thanks in anticipation.

Mark

clonking could be a uj joint on the propshaft , thats maybe causing your vibration also. if you have a grease gun locate all nipples and pack them all with a good grease. it may cure it ???

try milners for the exhaust i have also seen them on eBay from time to time , lads over at www.hiluxsurf.co.uk breaking surfs alot , you maybe lucky and get 1 from there locally.
