Trd Shortshift Installation In Corolla E10

Greetings

I'm installing my newly arrived TRD Short shift kit.

I took out the original shifting console and i took some stuff off to changed the lever.

However, take a look at these next two photos.

First picture: The hole to the right.

There's a little metal-thingy inside it, with teeth on it - how can i get i out?

Drilling it out wouldn't be a good idea hence i have to reuse this item/thing/metal-piece.

Any good ideas? I need to remove the top lid of the shifting console so i can change the lever... A wonderful (NOT) job ;)

Hope you can help! Thanks in advance :)

Depending how it is fixed in, you may have to 'drift' it out. It may be splined on the out side of the metal liner as well as the inside.

Try using a piece of wood dowling the same diameter as the liner and tap the end of the dowling lightly. This should 'drift' the liner out.

Don't hit the dowling too hard or you may damage the liner :crybaby:

Okay I figured it out somewhat myself...

VIOLENCE!

The hole is 6mm in diameter - so i took a bolt (danish word, think it's the same in english - kind of a screw...) and jammed it into the hole pushing the pin out - could drag it out when the bolt was down to the head.

Thanks for the suggestions!

Now I'm going out racing :D

Have you got a link to where you bought it from?

No, sorry :/

Bought it through "Niels Erik Jørgensen Consulting", the Danish distributor of TRD.

It took 1½ month for delivery even though he promised me that it would take 2-3 weeks...

However www.trdparts.jp/english - go there and find your distributor in whichever country you live in :)
