How To Change Front Indicator Bulbs?

Hi Guys,

I have bought some osram blue diadem bulbs for the front indicator in the headlights on my E12 SR.

I had a look yesterday and tried to fit them but I can not get anywhere near the indicator bulb with my hand as there is too much enigne in the way.

I tried taking off the head light but only managed to get the top screws off and I could not locate the others that are holding it in! :censor:

Can anyone give me any guidance on how to get the head light off? or even better how to change it without taking the light out!

Thanks

I think people have said they need to drop the bumper a little in order to remove the headlights. Don't know how to achieve this though.

have to drop the bumper i'm afraid. other option is to take the wheel arch liner out, but that is tight.

It is just about possible to do it without removing anything major, i.e. digits or hands.

I changed mine recently, and with the aid of a small mirror and fine screwdriver (to lengthen the old fingers...) and being left handed it still took about 40 minutes.

Compared with my old motor that's in the region of 39min, 20seconds longer to do the job!

Nice earner for toyota though, I suppose not everyone is as 'careful' as myself when it comes to paying some monkey to do the work...

Cheers.

Thanks for the responses. I have managed to do it! I did not have to remove anything it was just squashing my hand in and twisting and pulling!

I have to say the new bulbs look a lot better than the orange! I will post some pics soon.

Well done  Hope you didn't do too much damage for to your hands. I have a few scraped knuckles and fingers after completing my HID installation for the dipped beams.
