Gen 7 190-vvtl-i Wheel Fitting...

Hi all,

I'm hoping someone can give me a definitive answer on this. I've got a 2001 VVTL-i 190 Gen 7 Celica with the stock 5 spoke alloys wheels (yes, the ones that rust all the time) and I've decided that now is the time to replace them for some new ones.

I am thinking of getting some 17" Wolfrace Ikon Plus Shadow Chrome 6 spokes. I've been looking on the website www.alloywheels.com which says that the following fitments are available...

4x100 et35, 4x108 et35, 4x114 et35, 4x98 et35, 5x100 et35, 5x108 et35, 5x110 et35, 5x112 et35, 5x114 et35, 5x120 et35, 5x120 et40, 5x98 et35.

The website has a good search ability and after selecting Toyota, Celica 99>, 17" it is recommending that the fitment I need is 5x100 et35. I emailed them to ask if they would fit ok just to be sure and they responded saying yes...

HOWEVER a couple of days later I was searching eBay and found someone selling a set of the same Toyota standard 5 spokes I already have and they stated that the fitment was 5x114 et35.

So now I'm worried that I'll end up ordering wheels with the wrong stud pattern that won't fit. Does anyone know the correct answer for this?

Thanks - Sid

5x100 ET35 will fit a dream! Whoever's selling 5x114 has either had some modification to make them fit, or could possibly be running a celica older than Gen5 (not sure about fitments of G4 or lower).

If you go on a company's recommendation on something like this, then you are within your rights to demand a set that actually fit if the company get it wrong. If you tell them you want a particular size, then thats what they'll sell you and the problem becomes yours if its wrong...

To put your mind at rest you could measure your studs. 100mm is the PCD (pitch circle diameter), which is the diameter of the circle which connects the centres of your studs. Just measure from the centre of one stud to the centre of the wheel and double it - it should be 100mm.
