Jump Starting Prius

Had to jump start my Prius yesterday as I had left my lights on after abandoning the car in a hhurry on highish ground.

Two problems, had put the nose on a fence and could not move the car as it was in Park.

Secondly when attching a Battery to the jump start points under the bonnet (Aux Battery in boot) the alarm went off unexpected!!!! See page 277 of manual

Apart from that 20 minutes drive around got the Battery up to a sensible state!

Hi there, NEVER jumpstart the car from the small Battery in the boot, that Battery is for ignition and accesories only and will not start the car, im suprised you have not been burnt to a krisp. lol. there is a jump point in the fusebox on the right hand side as you look under the bonnet, there there is a nut with a red surround that is your jump point and you connect the earth lead (black) of the jump cable to a non painted part of the body. ok cheers mark

That is exactly my point ..... you have to dive under the fuse box cover as the Battery to run the electronics is in the boot so you cannot put jump leads on it! And you cannot open the boot unless the car has a live Battery!
