Not sure if the problem is related but I found water under the carpet in the OS rear passenger compartment on my Audi a4 (the companion to my 53 plate Avensis!). Windows all perfect and seals around the doors also perfect. Weirdly enough, the problem was traced to old leaves and other debris building up in the front engine compartment to the point that they plugged the drain holes. Water built up and a backflow developed sending the water along the drains into the rear compartment under the carpets. Perhaps this has happened to your Toyota?

A local VW-Audi "specialist" fixed the problem in under an hour and charged about 40 pounds. The carpet took a few days to dry out and the problem has not returned.

Many thanks for your advice.one of my friend advised me to pour water above the wind screen where the black plastic strip on roof, water then start coming in.I have seald from there and it stoped leakeg.sealer cost only £2.I remebered now that one day I washed car with prehser washer and with single spray I am sure that had broke the top seal.it was very strong presher.i will never use it again. :yahoo:
