could someone explain what the inst. line means, on the display above the mpg the one that goes to 90

i have read the manual but another explanation would be nice

yes, thats what i thought but it usually is all black, so i should be doing 90 mpg but only getting 27 at the moment

NO the black is the back ground colour 27 is about what i`m getting around town at the moment.

It is an indication of fuel flow at that moment.

If you take your foot off and coast it will go across to the right (90 mpg or more) and if you put your foot down it will go towards zero on the left. The average is shown in numerals underneath. Be sure to zero it as it will be showing some strange info from when it was new. It will take a few miles to stabilise but I would have thought you should be getting mid 30's mpg. Or are you still getting a thrill from the pulling power
