Front Arb Bushes

Hi,

I'm new here - my girlfriend has just bought a 2000 1.3SR. We noticed on the last service there was an advisory note that the front Antiroll Bar bushes had perished. From what I've read on here this seems to be the only common fault. I have hunted round this forum and found the service manuals, but what I'd like to know is where can I find suitable replacements and at what cost? I was thinking of getting them from Toyota, but if the standard items are susceptible to perishing then is there an aftermarket version available eg TRD?

The ARB link bushes do usually perish but even though they are perished they dont always knock.

You can get them from toyota but they are v pricey or get them from a motor factors for ALOT less!

You will be better off getting a full kit (bushes,links,nuts,cups/washers) instead of just bushes as the threads are usually rusted and the links can snap when undoing.

Many ARB bushes available, wouldnt go TRD as very costly and half the time no better, for instance there oil filter!

Envyperformance should be able to hook you up with some decent aftermarket ones!

Thanks for that I have sent Envy an Email, as I could not find the parts on their website!

Our bushes have jus been replaced on our gls @ 100k. Apparently they had split. They only seem to last 50k. Think it cost about £150 from toyota.

I found a set for £58 from our local Toyota garage. Envy don't want to answer the phone in the mornings or return my two messages.

Did you try any local motor factors? You will get them for ALOT less than this if you havent already bought some.

Envy finally got back to me saying that they don't stock the ARB bushes, but I did find one motorfactor out who could order the kit for £33 + VAT. Not bad as all the other motorfactors in Portsmouth said they couldn't get them. Thanks for the help
