Hi , I own a 2002 Gen 7 Celica (140 )

getting the now almost expected belt tensioner engine noise...

any gen 7 owners had this carried out by a garage....if so how much folding does it cost?

Has anyone tried to correct this issue themselves..?

Apologies to board Guru's if this has been asked a zillion times Im just getting used to the TOC board thanks

No need to apologise mate, every forum takes a bit of getting used to !

Welcome aboard anyway.

No idea myself if anyone has done this themselves, but as far as professionally goes it's usually a case of ringing round for prices. These can differ wildly depending on who you ring.

Good luck

Rich

Well I Have the same issue, got a belt from Mr T, cost me 50 euro incl vat. Im sure you could get one somewhere else for cheaper. Havent got around to changing it yet but here is a guide i found for changing it, sounds simple enough:

There is another thread on this forum about it:

Hope this is of help!

Mr Toyota Quoted me 150 to change the belt. if that wasn't the problem it would cost a further £150 to change the pre-tensioner. Im expecting to try fitting the new belt some point today, although im nervous cause i have to travel back to work tonight hehe. The step by step guide in the link above is very comprehensive though. i dont anticipate any troubles.
