Driving A Prius Throgh Floods

Living in South Worcestershire on the Severn Flood Plain we have now suffered two fairly substantial floods.... ahhhhhh!

I was always told to drive through flood water at about 5 miles per hour and never to let the engine stall less it sucked water back through the exhaust.

A steady 5 mph is just the sort of conditions when a Prius says to itself "hmmm, think I will stop the engine and go on to electric"

You can force the Prius to electric rather than peterol but the only way I could think of forcing the petrol engine o was to turn the climate control to 28C

I I being paranoid about the petrol engine stopping mid flood?

Any thoughts out there!
