Milestone 100k Service And A

Our gls has had its 100k service today. a few bits worth saying, some questions and the odd grumble about toyota. lol.

They quoted us about £270. Just previous to taking it in i changed the drive belt and water pump myself. The plan was to reuse the coolant for one day then get it replaced by toyota today as it was scheduled for a change(every 20k). They phone up my dad and say it needs new ARB bushes (changed at 50k last time!). He agrees to it and also says to do the A/C which hasn;t been working recently.

Clap my eyes on the invoice and it comes to £408. Looking down the list and i see no mention of coolant. So i say. Another chap comes and says that they replaced it last time. I ask on what basis was it changed knowing he is talking out of his ubik becasue i had already checked the last 2 invoices. He said they do a check everytime to check its condition and it needed replacing on its 90k service. Therefore there is no need now. I then say that the car had a leaking water pump and that i had to put a litre or 2 of water in. He assured me that it was fine. I said ok and moved on knowing thats he is blagging it, he then leaves.

Onto the visual safety with the original man.

Front and rear wipers £6.86, £8.14, £8.03 total price £47.03.

Coolant weak/due. :huh::blink:

I highlight this minor point and he says the mechanic would have realised that it was done last time. (So the mechanic just made that up then did he and wrote it on the VSR for fun?)

Other points on the VSR include:

Clutch fliud dirty

AC pump.........(and what looks like the word).... assey £195.07

AC service £89.05

Front and rear number plates £43.47

Some advice please.....

What work is done on the AC service? Does the filter get changed behind the glove box or just regased?

I've noticed the clutch is feeling very stiff... could that be down the dirty clutch fluid?

Why are they charging so much for number plates? Isn;t £20 the norm?

The air con still isn;t working and since i've been home i've seen a cable going from the a/c pump unplugged and the coolant expansion tank half empty. All in all they have once agian proved what a incapable, complacent, useless, lying, cheating bunch of..... they all are. Everytime i'm there i feel like :blowup:

Right... need to take some deep breaths lol

I always try to avoid dealerships like the plague. Try to only use them for buying cars (and the odd part)!
