Air Con

Is it normal for air con to sap your engines power? I ask because today I had the air con on and when accellerating briskly the revs didn't seem to rise as quickly from about 4000revs on. It was as if I was driving into a headwind all of a sudden.

The aircon makes a clicking noise every so often when its on (you can only hear it when the radio is off) but I've read on here that's normal?

hi chris81,It's not suprising to see the engine power drop when you consider that the compressor will genarate around 15 bar of pressure.this operation is quite normal nothing to worry about.

regards jason.
