Hi folks

Thanks for the support - I now know I need to remove and clean my idle control valve on the D4D. How do I recognise it? If I could be sure of knowing exactly what bit it is, I would get it done quickly, but am not sure what I am looking at. Wish we had Haynes Manuals for these motors......Its worth a pint for the hero who can guide me to this thingy. I have found a comapny on-line who'll do a recon jobbie; http://www.autotekelectronics.co.uk/, but they cannot guide me to the right bit.

Cheers

Bob

hello bob, there is no idle stabalisation valve on a d4 yaris,if your engine is suffering from hunting up and down on idle.

what you can do is remove the inlet housing which houses a throtle butterfly, clean out the soot deposits paying attention to the

egr bypass and into the cylinder head/manifold.hope this helps for you.

Thanks Jason, I have not done much on diesles in the past (i've rebuilt a few petrols), do you mean that to get to the butterfly valve I need to take off the very top cover to the engine where the air hose joins it and in there I will find this butterfly valve? Cheers. bob.
