Hilux Surf Computer-help

I've just bought a Surf 2.4 turbo diesel-at the right hand side of the dash is a small type digital unit measuring 90mm x 20mm.On this unit down the left hand side are 2 keys Power and Mode,next to them are 4 items -Turbo-Clock-Tacho-W/ST.Along the bottom of the readout panel are MH-SET-MSD,to the right are 2 keys Auto Man-Test ,next to them are 2 keys St By1 and St By2.Can any one tell me what it does and how to do it.

Sounds like a Turbo timer, but would need to see pictures of it.

Hi Andy, yes if Ipress POWER and Mode on W/ST then TEST it does try to start.Yesterday the Battery terminal came loose-wouldn't start-fixed that,started the engine but it wouldn't stop,had to press the POWER button on this unit to stop the engine.Is there any way I can find out what this does to eliminate any more surprises.

For the remote start I would think that you should have some sort of key pad, so maybe it didn't come with the car, and the turbo timer is set so that the engine will keep running when you have taken the key out and locked the doors, you have to set what delay you need.

Sorry I can not be any more help, have had T/timer on some of the surfs that I import, but none that do what your system does, so maybe try some of the other parts of this forum.

It is a turbo timer and remote auto start(which should have a key fob to go with it) it also does some other things too but i can't find the download that i got for mine.

Unfortunately turbo timers are illegal over here as the law states that you can't leave your vehicle unattended with the engine running.

You should be able to un-plug your unit without it causing problems, I removed mine(haven't got rid of it though)
