Has anyone got Tom Tom and subscribed to Traffic?

I have done it but realised that the live uplink depends on having a phone with GPRS. My question is what does it cost when this think updates every 15 minutes (or whatever period it is set to)?

suggests about 8k is download every time the GPRS device connects get the traffic info. Armed with this and a bit of simple maths with what ever rate your mobile provider charges you for data should give you the answer. e.g. say @ £3 per MB, 1 TomTom traffic update is approx. 2.5p. (plus the yearly TomTom subscription charge of course).

Played around with this on the free 1 month trial...did not like it in the end...

I have a Traffic Master Freeway box on the dashboard...very good and then use the TomTom to re-route around problems, so I dont have to have TomTom on all the time going to work....(been there 9 years so should know way by now :wacko: )

The review doesn't rate it that well so maybe I won't be renewing the subscription. I'll give it chance and see. So far it has cost me the subscription and a new phone with bluetooth and GPRS. My ISP couldn't tell me how much it would cost but shocked me when they said it could be £2.99 a shot. It sounds more like it is that much a month but I will be watching things very closely to start with.
