Electric Aerial

Hi getting really annoyed off wth my aerial. It goes up and down fine but the radio picks up hardly any signal at all. The radio itself is working fine (it has been in another car). The car is an st202 import, thanks for any help.

is the replacement headunit a uk version.

imports without a fm band expander only pick up radio 2 .

Yes the headunit is a uk one should it work with the import aerial?

Yes, the aerial will be the same UK or Import, I'm sure it's just the HUs that are different in Japan.

Have you checked the aerial lead hasn't come loose from the back of the H/U? If it's plugged in OK, I'd try the head unit in another car which has an known good aerial, or else try a different head unit in your car. If after that, you're sure it's the aerial, then I'd then check continuity of the aerial lead, and then check that the aerial is grounded to the bodywork properly.

Thanks for that headunit definately ok where should the aerial be grounded i will check that?
