Hi all !

Im looking at doing a service on my lovery TS but do l need to do anything extra at this service interval ??

Stuff im going to do:

Oil change

Im looking at changing the gearbox oil for some nice fully synthetic racing oil (What size is the draining screw ?) :yahoo:

l have done sparks and airfilter already on the last service so dont need to do those.

Not sure if l need to do:

Do l need to change the fuel filter ?

Anything else people can think of ?

l think its the pollen filter (is that the one under the glove compartment)

Any help would be really really appreciated, l dont want to give Mr T my hard earned dollar

I asked recently about fuel filter. It's not mentioned in the service schedule that I can see but if it's not been done I'd do that.

When were brake fluid and coolant last changed?

Brake fluid needs doing every 2 years and so does coolant (unless you have super duper long life stuff in).

Pollen filter is probably every 1 or 2 years.

That's probably about it. Pretty simple servicing on these. :)

No cambelt change at 60k like you would have on lots of cars either! :D

gearbox drain plug screw is a 24mm

60k services include oil+filter, air-filter,pollon filter,handset Battery (2016) and brake fluid every 2years

fuel filters are 40k on petrols

pink coolant is 10 years 100,000miles if its green shloud be changed every 4 years 40,000 miles

Cheers for the reply guys

l will check the previous service history for when brake fluid was changed etc (is the correct brake fluid listed in the back of the TS manual ?)

Did'nt know about the headset Battery but i'm sure Mr T has plenty of those in stock (thanks for this compressor mad)

l will have a look at the air/pollen filters, did'nt know that the air filter had to be changed every 10k. Because l have a long life on in there so it should last for 20k but to be fair they cost sod all so might as well.

Thanks all !!!!!

the brake fluid is DOT 5.1 it should be in the manual with regards to the air filter should be done every 3years 30,000 miles and pollon every 2years 20,000 unless we have a really bad summer with alot of crap flying about ,pollon etc

I'm due a 60k service too but I've already completed a pollen filter change myself (ie. the one behind the glovebox). So this shouldn't need to be done on my car and if its done I can ask for a refund.

Dot 5.1 is correct, pollen filters are very often overlooked, they don't cost a fortune so just change it.

Ed_Shek, tell your dealer you have changed it otherwise some poor Joe will be pulling you glovebox to bits only to find a new one in place, the techy will be given a bag full of parts to change, and if the pollen filter is in there, it will end up getting changed unless told otherwise. Kingo

My manual says DOT 4 for the brake (and clutch) fluid.

I think the factory use Dot4 but the dealers fluid has been superceeded to 5.1, like everything else, I expect 5.1 has a higher boiling point/specification Kingo
