Hi,I have a 2002 Previa CDX and want to replace the main beam bulb. According to my localdelaer they have to do this as it is tricky. Can anybody advise as to how this can be done without paying a ridiculous amount of money to go to a delear?

Thanks.

Hi, I just finished changing the main beam bulb and I can tell it was a tricky one. First of all there is not much room behind the headlight assembly and users manual does not provide any help at all.

First you need to make enough space to get your hand in where the headlight bulb cover is. You need to turn the cover and pull it out then. After that you get into the bulb. My users manual wrote that the bulb would be H4, which is fitted with double clip - however it ended up to be H7 which was fitted with single metal clip. Removing replacing bulb was easy after removing the bulb cover.

Before succeeding I tried to remove the whole headlight assembly but it would have required to put the front of the car into pieces....

BTW, my Previa is Left Hand Drive and it was the left bulb I changed - There was Battery and fuse / relays just there to make my work difficult. Right side, there would have been much more space and probably easier job as well.

Good luck.
