Welcome to the club Baz.

You will grin from ear to ear when you drive it home.

Just type photobucket into the search field and all will be revealed (its somewhere in the RAV photos post) on how to insert your photos.

Cheers

Thank you for the welcomes. I am really looking forward to collecting my RAV next week, I normally only get this excited when I collect a new bike !!

I will no doubt be asking plenty silly questions that all new owners ask !!

My first question is the on board Sat Nav, is it a decent database compared to the Tom Tom I have been previously and who supplies the software for the database ?

Regards

Baz.

Welcome to TOC Baz.

IMHO, the built in satnav (in my 2006 T180 at least) is not a patch on TomTom. For starters it doesn't do full postcodes, and you cannot add extra poi's such as speed cameras. However, it does look good :) and it never loses GPS lock, except where you'd expect it to, eg tunnels. That aside, I'm sure you will enjoy your RAV.

Baz

The software comes in the form of a disc and is available from Mr T for about £60. They also sometimes pop up on eBay.

I agree with Simes. I have tom tom but it looks a mess trailing over the dash and has to be taken out when leaving the car so I would prefer yours. They have just made TNS600 available for 4.3 owners. It costs about £1500 plus VAT and I'm tempted on the grounds that I could always sell it again at the end. It is also very easy to fit.

well i have kenwoods in my rav 4 and they are better then the tom tom's since they also do dvd, usb, ipod, radio, gsm, reverse camera and are double din with adjustable screen. oh and no problem with tunnels since they use the speed pulse... and use garmin poi's and postcode plus full map of europe  reverse camera is next ;)

Actually, thinking about, I'm not sure if my satnav does lose the signal in tunnels, now you've mentioned spped pulse.

What software does your Kenwood system use then? TomTom software is hard to beat!! Idealy I would like to run TomTom on my inbuilt satnav.
