iv tried leaving windows open, opening with the key, everything the owners manual says to try. i even took it to MR T but they only did exactly the same and said "oh i might not have one" so i showed him the stickers on the windows and was going to charge me to look at it!

could be but why the stickers on the windows? i looked up the spec on parkers and it said it was a standered fit for my modal (1.8 T sport) but who knows?? any one know where the alarm box is i could search for it to find out

i think ull find that a corolla only has an imoberlizer and no alarm that might b y it dont work

t-sport has alarm and immobliser.

have you actually enabled the alarm? don't you have to press lock button twice to arm it?

yes one press to activate the alarm and internal sensors and twice to activate the alarm with dead locks but without the sensors (in case you leave your pet inside) so the manual reads anyway

To test it press the lock button twice, leave it 30 seconds, then open it with the key.

Have you been leaving it for 30s?

What happens when you open it with the key?

Alarm siren?

Horn?

Hazards flashing?

Seems weird. Have a look at the alarm thread I've just started and see if you can use any of the programming tools...

What does the LED do?

It should start flashing when you take the key out of the ignition. The when you lock and alarm it it should be solid for 30s, then it should start flashing again when it's armed.

I think that means it's got a problem then I'm afraid.

Will probably need to visit a garage for diagnosis. Have you got a warranty?

Alarms are generally a bit pointless anyway though so it's no great loss!

Where in West Yorkshire are you by the way?

im near huddersfeild, got 6 months but have to take to a nationwide garage but they said may not be covered for electrical parts and have to call a auto sparky ( i can see the cost escalating already) im not too fused bout the alarm but if it gets nicked the insurance may not pay out.

I'm at uni in Huddersfield (technically, although I'm on a year out for the next year).

Insurance might not be too bothered, when I insured mine with Admiral they asked about immobiliser and I said I had an alarm aswell, but they said they didn't take alarms into account, just immobilisers and trackers.

I'd complain to where you bought it from if I were you, especially if it said "alarm" in the advert. Sale of Goods Act.

The alarm siren is mounted in the drivers side of the boot - pull the trim panel back and you can see it.

the alarm on mine is both horn and siren.

I always thought the Alarm is horn only. My Pre-facelift just honks the horn. Is it that facelift ones have a siren and horn combination?

Mine only honks the horn too.

But I think my siren is just broken, 'cause I'm pretty sure there's one there.

Seems weird we all have just the horn though!
