Camber Adjusting Bolts

Hello Bananafans!!!

I had my car lowered 35mm about 2 years ago and it threw the camber out, so i purchased a set of camber adjusting bolts for the front of my Gen 6 1.8 ST and had them fitted. The problem is the garage that fitted them can only set the camber to the default toyota setting which is kind of defeating the object of having camber adjusting bolts. it seems that the tyre wear is worse than it was before (i got through a new set of front Goodyears in 2 months and only 600 miles :censor: ) the wheels seem to be pointing --- ---

--- --- kind of like that so the inside is being killed.

so i put it to you, good people of the toyota owners club, soes anyone know anything about the camber settings or the adjusting bolts?

Cheers

What you need to do is take your car for a Full Global Geometric Check.. this isn't Wheel alignment or tracking, those two only check the front toe angle and allign the front wheels in line with the rears.. a Geometric check covers 15 different angles including castor and camber.

Setting the car up to the standard factory defaults might be of no use to you whatsoever as you have upgraded your suspension setup, the geometric check will get the car setup more or less the way you want it.... more understeer.. more oversteer.. or a neutral setup, for normal road use go for the latter of the 3, this should make the car handle a lot better and stop the tyres wearing out prematurely too.

any ideas of places which do this in the midlands area? most places i have been to only do a 4 wheel alignment.

I have no Idea... might be worth doing a search.. if you can't find anything, ask in the General section.
