Sticking Fuel Cap.

Every so often the fuel cap on my MR2 is a right PITA to get off, it sticks and I can't twist it.

On more than one occasion I have had to ask someone to help me twist it off. :crybaby: :censor:

I know I have the threads lined up right as when it works it twists on and off with no problems.

Its really annoying, is there anything I can do to sort this little niggle out?

I answered a similar thread about the Aygo fuel cap last week. It's due to the pressure build up in the tank, and little you can do about it, all I can say is just nip the cap up and dont overtighten. Kingo

I would have thought that it should have a small vent hole in it or a pipe vent in the tank. If so, a blockage in either may cause this problem. Try looking at the cap first as a pipe vent will be harder.

I have heard this problem in the motorcycle industry, causing petrol tanks to implode or cave in! :crybaby: Hope you sort it, Gar.
