Hi Tom,

This may be more difficult than it's worth!!

Haven't a clue about the electrics/wiring side of things, but from a physical point of view, the light and wiper stalks on mine have settings for Auto on both, not sure if the XTR has this on it's stalks, but I'd imagine they would need replacing with the ones from the models that have these functions.

As you don't get a conventional key (you get a transponder), the Start Button function also works with the keyless opening and locking of the doors, which means you have to have the little rubber buttons in the two front doors and the rear door.

Also, the start button is fitted into the dash, is there a blank or a hole where it can be sited on the XTR?

From the users perspective, to be honest, the Auto wiper/lights are options that don't really set the world on fire for me. The wipers can be a law unto themselves, ie it can be pouring down and the things decide you only need slow intermittent, or it can lightly drizzling and the car decides it's time for a wipe, then another, then another, then a full speed blast.......you get my drift!!!

And the lights.....well they don't come on in daylight when it's foggy, so you still have to do that yourself, and if you can't remember or decide when is best to put them on in normal use.............!!

If it could be done, I'm not sure I'd want the dash/rooflining taking out on my brand new car to have any of the gubbins installed to be honest!

Hope this helps.

Cheers.

Paul.

I dare say that the rain sensors could be fitted if you were adventurous enough but it may require the rmoval of the entire facia and lots of trim - that is if you could find a parts man good enough to identify all of the parts and looms.

The push button start could be a different matter. I think you will find that it is linked in to the keyless entry system and so would need to have all of the sensors and modules. You could fit the button alone and just not use the "start" position on your ignition switch but it would not work the same. The proper one will automatically crank the engine until it starts but you would have to keep your finger on it. If you want to do it just pick up the soleniod wire for the starter.

Seems pointless really and if you should get any related or unrelated electrical problems you know you will have provided quite a good get out clause for Mr T.
