Corolla Vvti Engines

Hello peeps, excuse me bouncing in from the Avensis section. I'm selling my Avensis and was considering a 2002 onwards Corolla. Any advice on the vvti engine? Is it the same vvti thats got the oil burning issues in the Avensis?

Crank, rods and pistons are different but the block is the same and the head is the same (slight difference on the 4ZZ to allow a sensor to fit but apart from that it's the same)

Few connecting part differences such as intake manifold, throttle body, knock sensor etc
