Well not a newbie as such but a newbie to this forum section.

Used to own a Toyota Avensis which i had when my grandad passed away, have to be honest i loved it, but being 22 at the time it wasnt exactly fitting with my life at the time, so after a year of ownership it was sold.

Noe i currently drive a Astra Sri2ltr the build is good as is the drive but with it being a 1999V and now 95k on the clock things are going and i cant be bothered with the repairs ervy month, combine with that its a magnet for people reversing in to me on (3 times in 13months) ive had enough.

So what brings me here, well i like the look of the Yaris tsport also like the spec and love the reviews i read about them.

Few minor questions,

they seem to hold there price very well i have seen one advertised locally for £3100 and also one on eBay and on this site too for 3.5k. At this price is this an indicator of poor use and abuse? or are they really bullet proof?

Mileage, obviously the earlier models which im going to be looking at Y-52/53 have got a few miles on, how long can these engines in them run for?

Finally, i a price budget of around 4.5k reasonable to find a pretty good example for one?

Cheers if you can help me out folks

Gregg

I just bought my T Sport on friday from a local listers toyota. It's a 2002 model, and it's the cheapest I could find in the area. It was £6000 with 50k miles.

I have seen a few going privately on autotrader for about £5000. I personally believe you'll struggly to find one that cheap, although I might be wrong!

I paid £5k for mine 11 months ago. It had 40k miles on the clock and was on the forecourt for £5995 at a Toyota specialist.

im finding them for under £5k accross the country, Good thing i keep seeing is they are all 1 or 2 owner cars so clearly are good motors.

Thing is do i buy then then worry about selling my current car?

Strewth thats a lot of cash. The one on the used car roadshow went for just £600 more and that was a 55 reg with 9K miles.
