HI everyone;

Quick question Is the roller switch that dims the panel & clocks lights on the 4.3

supposed to be back lite ? as the one that adjusts the headlights is.

And would any one know where i could get a push to make switch of the same

sort of design, (garage door opener before you ask anchorman) :thumbsup:

It's a strange logic that decides which controls are back-lit and which are not - the panel dimmer isn't one of them.

Well I can't help being inquisitive :thumbsup: Besides it stops me from rambling in the wrong direction :wacko:

The absence of backlighting on the majority of switchgear (including the instrument dimmer) has been the subject of discussion on several occasions. Hopefully Mr T will address it in forthcoming revisions.

If you're like me you will be fussy about switches looking right so I would go and see the dealer to find a push to make switch that fits one of the other models so it fits perfectly (Kingo can you advise?).

If not there should be something in the RS Components catalogue or even a scrapyard.

In the USA you can get a little module that fits in the overhead light/switch console in any store but I've not seen them here. Toyota USA do one as a kit that fits under the sun visor and I can get you one is you like when I go in September but I don't know how much it will cost or how much you might have to canibalise it to make it work.

They have 3 positions because they may need to open 3 different doors!!!?

However, another thought is the movement sensor cancellation switch on ours must be push to make and maybe you could fit a second one of those up there near to it?

Cheers
