Hi All! I have just bought a 05 T Sport and must say it one of the best cars i have owned. I bought it just for the engine noise and that kick at 6,000rpm. Had a race with a Audi A3 1.8T from Oxford to Milton Keynes, he couldn't catch me. :toast: I previously only had Fords (Fixed Or Repaired Daily). But someones car rolled down the hill and hit mine and took out my bumper and passenger side wing. :censor: :crybaby: They had no insurance and the car had previously been written off. :censor:  :censor: :censor: Now i have to pay the £200 excess and be without the car for a week. :crybaby:

I Have some questions about my T Sport if anyone can help me?

1. Is there anyway of getting rid of that annoying bleeping when putting into reverse?

2. What things should i look out for going wrong?

3. I have the T Sport Suede intierior and i need the mats to match, do they still sell them? My dealer can't source any?

Thanks for your help.

Welcome to the Club!

1) Don't know about getting rid of the annoying beep when in reverse though you could source the wire and cut it. Personally I'm used to it now and its a good reminder that I'm in reverse.

2) Not much goes wrong with the cars though there have been reports of lift bolts breaking causing the lift cam to not engage. These should have been sorted with a facelift version such as yours.

3) mats not sure but I've looked on eBay and haven't seen many pop up. Best try other dealers to see if they can source them.

Enjoy lift!

Welcome to the club ;)

1. I wish I knew the answer

2. What Ed Shek said but i've only known a couple of people on here to have that problem.

3. The should be able to source these as 2 dealers I asked said they could. Try another dealer.

1) You could cut the offending wire, but as it is also used for other warning sounds in the car (beams on when the door is open etc) you would also lose that. I personally don't spend much time in reverse as going forwards is just too much fun so it doesn't bother me anymore. Also it's saved me a couple of times as my gear box takes a lot of strength to change and I've managed to put it into reverse when aiming for 1st.

2) As has been said there is very little that generally goes wrong with these cars (I hope I'm not tempting fate here) but there are certain "features" that the car has. Such as a very notchy gear change in 1st/2nd/3rd generally, the oe brake pads are pathetic, and the clutch smells awful if you give it a lot of gas whilst the clutch is still slightly depressed.

3) As Fisel has stated, try another dealer. They tend to be hit and miss sometimes.

p.s. Welcome to TOC and above all else.... ENJOY THE LIFT!!

Just thinking about the reverse beep and how you get used to it. But just wondering if anyone's ever hit lift in reverse, and how scary it was?

Thanks for your comments, i have noticed the smell after i let my brother drive and he tried to pull away in third  I have called a few dealers and managed to get a set of T Sport mats, front and rear, from a dealer but they are costing me £56.00 :o .

The mats are 58.85 INC VAT and 52.96 from me, lol. They are readily available, That beep sound is a little annoying but necessary IMHO. I would'nt cut it out, a bit like the bleep for not wearing your seat belt, in reality how often does it affect you? Enjoy your TS Kingo

mats i just ordered are TPZ410-E935F-DA which i saw kicking about these forums for the T-Sport mats.

said they were £50.08.

that the right code?

out of interest, do you happen to have any of the t-sport keyrings about?

That's the correct part number, price was correct on looking this morning, don't have the keyrings in but can get them, no problem. Kingo
