just changed from a 2000 focus to a 2006 T3 x

i have noticed the steering pulling a little to the right, especially under braking.

Also there is a bit of a rustling type noise when i put on full lock to the left from a cold start (pulling out of my drive.)

anyone experienced these problems - am i spolied by the focus ledgendary handling or do you think i have a problem - or two.

I have a new 2007 Avensis 2.0 vvti. I would like to comment on your first problem. When I am running with e.g., 100Km/h (i.e., 60mph) and half-press the breaks, the car SEEMS(???) to try to pull to the right. I am sorry but I cannot explain what I am feeling when I press the breaks due to bad english... I will give you a description as good as possible:

What I see is that the front part of the car is lowering (approaching the ground/road) when I press the breaks (yes this is normal). The problem is that the right-front part of the car is lowering more than the left-front part. The feeling is that the car is TRYING to pull to the right. If I continue pressing the breaks, then after a few hundreds milliseconds, the car is leveling correctly and stops TRYING to pull to the right. I have driven a few thousands km and now my feeling is that this problem has been reduced (or I got used to it). Anyway, when I first saw this behavior my guess was that my breaks needed a little fine-tuning. But Mr. T. told me that my car has electronic Break Distribution and, thus, I should not experience break imbalances. He told me that the road friction is uneven and this caused the strange behavior. Of course he was wrong as this behavior occured many-many times.

All in all, if I was in your position, I would just check my car to ensure that breaking power is even in all front and rear wheels.
