New Yaris Sr

I think that babyg388 is the owner of the ‘Complete Yaris’

I must say I am a little envious of her and especially her new Yaris SR. Over the years, someone somewhere on here has asked/enquired/purchased/fitted extras to their cars that babyg has as standard. The list is by no means complete but she has: 17” rims, no rubbing scrubbing or alterations needed to arches, Body kit, MP3 player, Amplifier, Six Speakers, Rear discs, Bigger engine, Fog lights, Sports pedals etc etc etc. Pity I can’t afford one :crybaby:

I wonder how much people have spent on their cars to bring it a level to one that can be bought with all the goodies...

I tell you, if the SR diesel was the 1.8SR but with a D-4D rather than a T-Spirit with nasty alloys and a tacky chrome bit on the end of the exhaust then there would be one sitting on my driveway already. Sadly, buying a petrol car doesn't make fiscal sense to me... Told my Toyota Dealer as much on Tuesday when he rang me to find out how I was getting on considering his quotation for an Auris, the same as someone above...

Yet i miss my old Yaris :crybaby: (with fitted spoiler, brows, extra Speakers and farty exhuast! - no alloys *hands up* i can't park!) - I spent a lot of time on it

But the new Yaris was a defo draw with all the comforts already there and the old yaris getting old (7 years old - was working fine when i part exchanged it, just a noisy exhaust - think it had a hole!)

I'm quite happy with a petrol car as i dont use my car much (but would consider a diesel if i did more journeys)

Will do,

the weather isn't that great here this morning, but I'll get the digicam out in a bit :)

As for good points.... well.... theres plenty of power for overtaking no our roads you know the big long stretches which are national speed limit but people still insist on doing 40mph despite it being a blue sky sunny day........ As soon as you hit about 3500 revs, theres a pull of power that just doesn't complain and the power stays (keeps pulling) there until you hit the limiter at 6500 revs.

the handling is fantastic! The VSC can be a little over zealous sometimes methinks, but it still works absolute wonders and controls the power well on corners if you judge it wrong.

The breaks, although they feel quite soft, stop you incredibly quickly without throwing you forward. I persume thats thanks to the EBD with the ABS.

Theres fantastic visibility all around with an excellent driving position (height adjustable) the seats hold you well when cornering ;) fully adjustable steering wheel is also handy!

Incredibly spacious. Can fit 4 quite large (tall and broad) men and a young person comfortably...

The exhaust makes a fantastic sound... when idle theres a subtle purr purr purr coming from it... stick yer boot down and it makes a satisfying roar without going stupid (like the large boar exhausts you find put on novas and saxos lol)

The cup holders and bottle holders are very well placed... plenty of cubby holes to cram stuff...

Basically I love everything about it so far. As previously stated theres only two quibbles.....

1) The SR 1.8 could easily be a hot hatch if they gave it a intake filter, turbo and dump valve.

2) No rear electric windows.

And thats about it!

Pictures to follow either today or when the weathers nice... :0)

The car looks fantastic as you already know... I saw a Corsa VXR (07 plate) yesterday for the first time in the flesh... and I had to say... and this isn't being biased or anything.. but the thing looks like its got huge child bearing hips....!? heh...
