Hi,

Just like to say hello firstly, I have just joined the TOC today. I bought my Verso a few days ago. I need to change the rear discs and pads.

Just wondering if anyone has done this. is it easy, do I need to torch up bolts??

Any advise would be most appreciated..

Thanks.....

Pretty easy job if you are handy with tools.

jack up and stabilise rear of car,

handbrake off,

cap off brake fluid reservoir,

remove both rear wheels,

slacken the handbrake shoes off through the small hole in the discs,

unbolt caliper and remove pads, use a proper piston winder or a pair of waterpump pliers to push caliper piston back in,

unbolt pad carrier, give it a good clean where the pads sit,

pull discs off,

using a bit of wet and dry or similar clean the shoes surface up,

fit new discs,

refit the pad carrier,

fit new pads with copper slip/grease where it sits in the carrier and on the rear surfaces,

refit caliper,

adjust handbrake shoes through the hole in the discs,

wheel back on,

pump brake pedal to push piston against pads,

check fluid level (top up or remove some fluid depending on height,

drive
