has anybody got a 1.3 sr with same problem only 2 months old 2.000 miles took car to toyota world cardiff

mechanic could not find any trouble and took me out on test he floored the pedal to get up hill and said thats what they

are like got a nissan micra 1.3 with 150.000 miles on clock better accelaration in 5th gear than the toyota has in first :(

Keep in mind the new Yaris is bigger and heavier than the last one. Maybe a 1.3 is just a little under powered?

Have you tried another one to see if that’s the same?

Yeah as above really. See if you can drive a different one to compare. Did you take a test drive before buying?

I had a 1.3 new shape Yaris as a courtesy car and it felt about right for what it was - reasonable acceleration low down but ran out further up the rev range as you'd expect. Those 1.3 Micra SR's were nippy little cars and it has probably freed up with age. Maybe your expectation of the Yaris was too high?!

Only 2,000 miles though - the engine will still be as tight as a nut... One of the guys here in my office has a 1.3 T-Spirit and its pretty nippy.

I've the 1.3 automatic,it took about 8000 miles to really get going.

Yeah, its like the D-4D engine - it takes 10 to 12,000 miles before it loosens properly.
