The answer is "yes with a but". What Toyota did was listen to everyone saying how fantastic the kick was at 6200rpm in the CTS so they set about ruining it in the compressor. They moved the lift point forward by ~ 1000 rpm (so just over 5000) and then they smoothed it out so you get a more even power distribution across the range. Most people say they can notice it but I get the feeling they are actually sitting there trying to feel it, unlike in the CTS where the lift pushes you back in your seat!

Its funny cos mine has lifted on about 4 occasions in total and i didn't know what it was but had thoughts? i knew something wasn't quite right. The power delivery is smooth and feels perfectly fine but on these 4 occasions it has suddenly pulled away faster after 5000 revs! I liked it i must say!

Its more noticeable in a standard T-Sport. The compressor as mentioned delivers the power more smoothly hence some people might not notice it.

Just got a reply back from TTE in Germany they said it happens at 4200 revs exactly but is so smooth you cannot feel it you can only hear it! Make of that what you will lol
