On my daily commute this morning, about five minutes into my journey, I stopped at some traffic lights.

All of a sudden, the orange VSC, ABS and ! lights, plus the red handbrake ! light came on. I was half expecting the car to shut down, but when the traffic lights changed, I could drive off without any problems. I drove to the office (another 12 miles), still with these lights displayed without any problems, apparently.

Naturally, when I parked, I started and stopped the car a few times and couldn't repeat the behaviour. Strange!

Has anyone experienced this before? Is this the start of my Prius developing faults, or is it just a one-off? I have had no problems with my Prius during the 3 years I have had it. One happy owner until now.

Any advice welcome

paul

I suspect it is a bus (as in computer bus) problem. Occasionally my audio system plays up where the voloume control both on the wheel and the knob on the set become inoperative. Powering down and effectively reseting the bus cures the problem. I suspect that there is very little point to point wiring between components on the Prius.
