had this last week, i changed the pads over the week end , everything was quite easy, squeal went for 4 days but is now back, only when i break quite hard, any ideas what it might be, bit of dirt trapped do you think ?

Possibly dirt, or just a vibration between the pad and caliper housing, which manifests itself as a squeal when you brake. Try removing the pads, and place a smear of copper grease on the BACK of each pad. This can often cure the problem. I don't mean to teach you to suck eggs but make sure it's the BACK OF THE PAD not the friction material. Kingo

yes will give it another go tomorrow, pads were all but worn out( which gave that squeal warning , which it is meant to do by all reckoning), think just needs good clean, whats the best thing to use to clean the discs meth spirits?

That would do it, or the proprietry brake cleaners on the market. Clean all the caliper housing where the pads sit too, a bit of emery cloth to get rid of rust in there helps, then grease the back of the pads, and the very ends of the pads where they sit in the caliper, don't lash the grease on, just a smear is all you need.
