Grill In Dash

Cant describe it anymore than this cos its been doin my head in since i bought my tsport 18 months ago. next time you sit in the drivers seat look to the left of your steering wheel below the indicator stalk just sat to the left of the handle that changes your steering wheel position. what the hell is it ?

it's a slot in the plastic dash with four or five grills in it about an inch long !! what does it do ??, it bugs me everytime i am sat in the traffic going home on the m62 past mcr each evening i keep looking at it thinking what the hell are you .

is it me or am i going insane :(

I could be wrong here.. but if your car has climate control.. behind that part of the dash could be the sensor getting info on how hot/cold the car is and adjusts the heating/cooling system accordingly.
