Hello Ravvers... :D

Can anyone let us know how much luggage the new Rav 4 can take with its back seats up in a comfortable possition....

Also I am a bit torn in making a decision wether to go for a new Rav4 xt4 or a old D4d xt5....both are priced at about 16K...

CANT MAKE MY MIND UP....

All I can say is that I need to be able to put 2 child seats in the back and transport their and our luggage plus golf clubs and a double buggy....With the t4 avensis which I currently have I have got no hope in hell to transport that unless I get a roof box...(I hate those things...)

SO anyone out there with wife and kids...please help me out... :(

Hi NightStalker,

I have just purchased a RAV4 XT4 2.2D4d and I have a 6 year old with a new baby on the way. The Rav 4 has the ability to slide the back seats forward for even more space when just the little ones in the back. I have put the pram and all the good stuff that comes along with new babies. The Golf clubs fit in and I am very happy with the space.

Have a look at the post from Sussex_Paul on his camping holiday earlier this year. RAV photos, page 7.

Rav Photos

If he can get that little lot in the back of RAV 4.3, I don't think anybody can have any problems with luggage space.

Personally my RAV 4.3 laughed at me "is that the best you've got" when we went on holiday with the full baby kit.

The 4.2 is a superb vehicle but faced with an equal choice of either I believe you should go for the 4.3 for various reasons;

It is altogether bigger

It has updated safety features

Newer technology engine and driveline

I went to buy a 12 month old 4.2 granite as I prefered the look of the old model and just as I was about to sign on the dotted line I took the 4.3 demo' around the block. It decided for me and I think you should do the same - try both.

Good luck

My 4.2 can only fit two child seats in the back -ie there is no room for a third person. By removing the parcel shelf you can fit two large suitcases and a push chair on top and fit a few things round -but you would struggle to get any golf clubs in as well.

Haven't tried the 4.3 so can't say. The M class Merc has loads more space but then its much more expensive.

Thanks guys..... :D

I will be test driving the Rav4 3xt4 tomorrow and also the rav4 2xt5.

I really like both cars both look great. Money is in place to take one of them BUT WHICH ONE SHALL I GO FOOOORRR

the rav 4 2 looks great, the spec is almost to of the range

the rav 4 3 looks great, only thing I dont like is the fact that the leather seats are not heated.... but the luggage space (on paper) is bigger, also the car itself has had a overhaul.....

I will just have to see what happens tomorrow...all I do know is that my time with my avensis is coming to an end :(
