Is The 3 Door Rav4 Really Finished?

I've had three new RAV4 3 doors since they came out and an my next car would be a new 3 door RAV 4 but they seem to have been discontinued! As I live in a crowded London suburb and the RAV4 can park in very small spaces, I'm not interested in a longer 5 door one so it looks like I'm going to have to get something else in the spring.

I've been very happy with my Toyotas and the local Toyota dealer that I got them from. I've only had very minor problems with any of my RAVs over the past ten years and have had good trade in deals. My current one is automatic and it has spoiled me from using manual shifts. Being able to remove one or both of the back seats has been very useful too. I'm not at all mechanically minded and the bonnet is only open a few times a year to top-up the sceen wash.

I have looked at the Auris and Yaris but they don't seem to be available with an automatic gearbox. Anything else from Toyota is too big.

Any suggestions?

May I suggest the Daihatsu Terios.

Daihatsu Terios

You can get a Terios 1.5 with an auto gearbox new for just under £15k. It is smaller than Golf so parking should be no problem and Daihatsu is part of the Toyota family. I believe in some countries they are even badged as Toyota's.

My wife's little Daihatsu has been totally reliable (touch wood) and the dealers very good, both for sales and servicing.

I hope this help's.

Just in case you are unsure what the Daihatsu Terios looks like, here she is:

If I didn't need the space of the 5 door RAV for carting around pushchairs etc, I might have even bought one!

There is indeed a Toyota version, it's called 'Rush'. It only has a 1.5 ltr engine, so I'm not sure how much rushing you would do! *gets coat*

Here's a picture of one :D
