Well i have an sr and i took the TTE springs off and replaced them with

Koni 40mm springs

was fine at first dropped the car just about enough

had them on almost a year now and never had any trouble with ground clearance

over the last month the cars been catching on speed bumps when i have a few people in

but today i had only myself in the car and its bottomed out like 3 times on speed bumps and once on a normal bump going in to a car park :|

im really starting to worry as its a large thud just after the front wheels when it happens

are my shocks going? or spring nackered? or are they just going to be like this?

is there any reason why this would happen? cause ive never heard of springs goin on the yaris

cheers

Mine does this on the front too but i'm slammed. Its such an awful noise but i just try to avoid speed bumps etc. If you check underneath the car, i can see no damage so it cant be that bad :P I also find something underneath the drivers side scrapes when i half mount a curb parking outside my girlfriends. Hopefully its not the newish sump i had fitted :P

Hi, I had a similar problem on a car with STANDARD springs!

Started bottoming out over bumps (everywhere where I live) I got some Koni adjustable shocks from motorsportworld and had them fitted. Has been fine since.

I think the shocks that were standard are cheap rubbish designed to last for the warranty! My car had done less then 30k

shocks could be on their way out, and your springs have probably sagged over the time they have been on the car, which is why it's catching.

The above is probably the reason I reckon. I remember you saying that your car has done quite a few miles over it's time and depending on the life of the shocks, they could just be worn. If you've never changed them yourself, they could be as old as the car is.

Your shocks and nackered because you have had lowering springs on standard shocks.

The koni shock and spring set up will be a better buy for a handling but if you really want it super lower where you will catch anything anyway go for the coilovers.
