Jumpstarting The Avensis - Problem

Hi - my 2004 Avensis 2.0 Battery is flat (after c.10 days idle - don't know the reason yet...) on trying to jumpstart it, as soon as I complete the circuit with the jump leads, the car's horn sounds continuously and the anti-theft alarm goes off - is there a problem or should we continue and ignore the noise?

I had this problem when my Battery had died. If the car had been locked and alarmed at the time of Battery death, the car will remember it's locked (despite the Battery being totally fcuked on my car - the alarm would go off!)

I'd personally chose a suitable time to do it (not 8am on a sunday) and just go for it. If you can get the car open and started... drive it out into the countryside and mess about with the key fob etc out there!
