Rav 4 95 2.0 Manual - Gearbox Oil Change -easy?

Hello!

Recently got a 95 4 door with 120k on clock. Have given engine a flush out and changed oil and filter. it sounds quiet on idle and pulls well. But when I take up drive I get a bit of a whine which is louder at motorway speeds. I'm going to change gear oil to see if this helps and then the diff oils.

Are these DIY jobs?

I bought a disc off e bay for the rav, but it give tech specs not a haynes type account of how to do it.

Is changing gearbox oil simply a case of a couple of bolts, or is the filler hole not easy to access?

Haven't had a good look yet - thought I'd seek informed advice first.

thanks for reading this

I've done a 4.2 which I will be documenting shortly but not a 4.1. All I can say is that Toyotas are generally fairly easy to work on and providing you can access it OK (either by driving onto some stout wooden blocks or better over a pit/lift) then it should be fairly apparent when you can see the transmission.

Anybody done it?
