Boost> Psi, Bar, Its All New To Me

ok,

I know this has been done time and time again, i have a manual boost controller under the hood, as far as im aware this hasn't been set and should be standard. i have a boost guage on the dash and its measuring in bar not psi?

the car has a dump valve, blits backbox and center box and has been de-cat. it had a K&N which is force fed air by a air duct attached by the bottom of the bumper I only run it on BP ultimut

First off, i want to make sure its running standard boost, how would i tell, secondly running this kind of setup, whats a good safe boost level?

I'm sorry if this has been asked before, i don't a lot of searching but all this boost and other stuff is new to me.

I'm also looking for a electronic boost controller so i can control *boost creep and all sorts of other stuff in learning about*

Also what kind of performance increase can i expect?

The only other thing that i want to do is replace the head gaskit with a high quality metal one as i have read there a bit of a week point on the 185

0.7 bar is std for a 185 0.9bar is about the max on a stock HG

with a manual boost controller you should be able to go to 1.0bar (14.4psi) but until you get some forged pistons and a mappable ecu that's about your lot, should still net in the region of 250-270bhp

if your doing the HG get a proper job done. have the head refaced and over hauled (valve clearances and seats recut) and use a set of ARP head studs
