Trailer Electrics Wiring

I have been trying to find out what trailer wiring type I need for a rear light board for use with a bike rack.

I have noticed their are 3 types.

1. Standard wiring kit. N-Type (Single) Wiring Kit.

2. System for bulb monitoring. 3-way stop tail or item 3 below.

3. Can-Bus or multiplexed - computer controlled via signals. (smart relay bypass required.)

Now does my 03 (new) Avensis 1.8 T4 need 1,2 or 3 above but which one. I am hoping its the basic clip on type cables I have installed in previous cars, but not sure since a newer model.

Can someone please confirm which type I need. Mt T is looking for GBP76+ inc vat for a wiring kit, but he was unsure what type that was.

Thanks

Gary

The Toyota wiring kit is a 12N 7 pin socket

PZ417-T3566-00 Tow bar wiring kit (4 dr saloon) @ £76.87

Do you have a towbar already? if not, you will need some method of fixing the socket to the outside of the car. The Toyota wiring kits are made up for each individual car, and are plug and play, no cutting of wiring looms etc.

Cheers. Kingo

How much would I expect to pay for a full towbar inc wiring kit for Aux wiring too?

Just a though since we are considering a caravan in he years to come.

Thanks

Gary

If you are up to doing it yourself then try towequipe on the web, you'll need a wiring kit for your model at a guess. Fittied one myself to my 98 GS and it was relatively easy. Their service was exceptional.
