2001 Avalon Transmission Whining Noise

Love the 2001 Avalon, just purchased a used one with only 46,000 miles. Experiencing one issue. When accelerating, at 30-37 MPH, the transmission has a high pitched whine. In some cases (when going up hill) the noise is louder than the stereo.

I have been to the dealer and they did a transmission service and test drive to check it out. Said noise was normal. Picked up the car. Same problem exists

I am planning on going back to the dealer. But in the mean time...

Anyone experience this?

Any suggestions?

Bryan

UPDATE: I have since been back to the dealer. I insisted that they take a closer look at the problem. They discovered a cracked "Race" that hold the output drive/input drive. Since this Race was cracked, it allowed the bearing to have to much play and consequently caused metal to be deposited into the transmission.

I was informed that I will be receiving a NEW TRANSMISSION ON TOYOTA.
