Sat Nav Dvd Help

I need some help, please!

I have a Rav4 XT5, with the Sat Nav unit in it - recently, the unit has refused to read the map DVD - stating that it is damaged / unreadable. I have taken the Rav back to Toyota as it`s still under warranty - here`s the problem, they don`t have a new DVD to try in it so they can`t tell whether it`s the DVD (not covered by warranty) or the unit (which is covered).

They`re trying to find another DVD to check out which is at fault........ but I`ve been waiting 3 weeks now and want to sort something out!!! :o

My question is this - the Map DVD is a Europe Map, with a letter "A" - version 2004 - 2000 ver2. serial no 86271-64012 with 9 red circles on it.

I think that means that the Sat Nav unit is a TNS 300 - is that correct?

And, what other DVD`s can be used in it - I have seen alot of DVD`s for use with TNS 300`s for Lexus etc on eBay and am considering getting one of these to try, would these work?

If it`s not this one - what ones should I use and where can I get one from (cheap!)?

I`ve tried to copy the info from my DVD onto a blank DVD dual layer to see if this works, but the unit refuses to read it - this could be due the fact that it doesn`t like the DVD or it`s broken!

I need some help please!

THanks

:-)

Just had a look at the DVD in my XT5 Navigation System and can confirm that the disk is for the TNS 300. Serial numbers etc., are the same as you have quoted from your DVD plus the Jewel Case states the disk is for Toyota DVD Navigation System TNS 300. Would think any DVD for use with the TNS 300 would work but I would'nt spend a lot of money in case its the unit at fault. Hope this helps.

Thanks to you both for the information - thankfully, the garage has managed to get another XT5 with Sat Nav, so I`ll be taking it along tomorrow to see if it`s the DVD or the unit.

Thank you for your help though
