Creaky Plastic

I've noticed the plastic shroud, or whatever it is called, surrounding the air vents and computer display on my 03 T3X is very creaky, especially on uneven surfaces. Has anyone else noticed the same and can anything been done about it?

The plastic quality is a bit cheap to say the least. It's fine if I push it in and drive around one handed but I don't think that is the best solution.

Any help would be appreciated.

Yes, you're absolutely right. Although i own the cheaper version(no display), i've noticed the same things after 1-2 years. What you can do, is trying to remove it and then cover the inside of it with some kind of sound deadening (you can get it at a car stereo shop). This way, you can make it "heavier" and thus reduce its resonance frequency. If that's hard, you can alternatively buy some plastic welding epoxy, and apply it on the inside of the trim, forming "rails" in propably 2 directions (maiking squares!!!). Again, this way will make the plastic trim stronger. At the very end (sound deadening or plastic epoxy), you can cover the whole inner part of it, with some kind of rubber foam or better try to find some ensolite(search for open cell foam).

After doing the above, i'm pretty sure it will be perfect!

Sorry for my bad English!

I think this noise was a no cost accessory on all 03-04 models. :) It was on mine.

There are ways to fix it with pads and foam though and I'm sure if you search this forum you'll find this problem mentioned somewhere over a year ago.
