Steering Wheel Boss

Hello everyone,

I recently decided to change my standard MR2 steering wheel for a MOMO. I also purchased what I thought was the correct steering wheel boss as it said it would fit an MR2.

However when I removed the current steering wheel I found that the boss I had wouldnt fit the car. (see attached images). Do I require a special kind of boss, or do I have to remove the plastic ring which has the horn plug on it as well?.

I can only guess that someone else has had this problem before but any help would be appreciated.

My MR2 is a 1993 sw20 GTS Turbo (T-bar).

This is what I had to fit to my Corolla (used to have airbags) when I had a Momo wheel fitted.

It came from Japanese import 1993 Mk II MR2 Turbo. There were no markings on it anywhere - no make or part number - nothing. Sorry I can't help with that - but at least you know what one looks like - not that it helps a lot.
